Hi Laurent,

chapeau! This is a very nice appmenu!

Two little things I'd like to add:

1. There is no "eject button", which I really do miss (especially since it's mentioned and a vital part to the option "end all programs on eject").
2. When building a shortcut not to a file, but to a directory instead (like H:), the final backslash is missing. One can, of course, add it manually, but nicer would be a default \

Other than that, Appetizer is really beautiful.

Best,
Meks

Hi Meks,

Thanks for the feedback! Regarding the eject button, it is normally missing if you are running Appetizer from a non-ejectable drive, since in that case the drive simply cannot be ejected. Was it your case? If not, please let me know, as that would be a bug.

I've also added the missing \ to the todo list as I agree it should be there by default.

Laurent

In addition: It just came to my mind that portableapps.com's Menu (which I used to use before I met Appetizer) actually *has* this "eject button" which does the "safely remove hardware" routine. Maybe that's why I was expecting the same function with Appetizer (and still would love it to be there ...)

Best,
Meks

Hi Meks,

By removable drive, I meant any device that can be ejected throught the "Safely Remove Hardware" functionality of Windows. *However*, your post just made me realise that external USB hard drives are indeed not detected as removable by Appetizer. And so the "Eject" icon is not displayed.

I'm going to fix this issue right now, and so it will be part of the next 1.2 release (due in a few days). Thanks for pointing out this bug!

Laurent

Edit: Ok, version 1.2.4.637, now available, should fix this issue.

Hi Laurent,

thanks for the reply. Maybe I am misunderstood - is there a difference between a removeable and an ejectable drive?

I'm working with an external USB drive, Western Digital Passport 160 GB, and I was thinking the eject button would do the same thing as the "safely remove hardware" function in Windows itself. Which would make a lot of sense combined with the additional "stop all programs" function.

"Ejectable" in the Windows sense are only CD and DVD drives, right?

Thanks again for the beautiful piece of software you wrote,
Meks
